On August 20th 1991 Nirvana played support to Sonic Youth in Sir Henrys, Cork. Just three weeks earlier they filmed the music video for 'Smells like teen spirit' and they were just about to explode onto the world music stage. They went on to spearhead the grunge music scene and have since become music royalty. Talking to peoplei n Cork there must have been 10,000 at the gig even though Sir Henry's barely held 750 people.
